Solar Power in Australia

Solar power in Australia is quickly emerging as a viable alternative to conventional electricity and several solar power firms have emerged in the recent years across the country. Australia has installed enough photovoltaic solar panels to produce around 300 MW of power per year, and even though that is a pretty small amount considering the abundance of sun, dry weather and flat land in that region, the figure is quickly growing thanks to several incentives introduced by the government.

Some of these incentives are rebates, feed-in-tariffs and a target set for the economy’s renewable energy production as a percentage of the total energy production – it is said that renewable energy (solar power, wind power, etc.) should be at least 20% of the total energy production in Australia by 2020.
